Raul's family also might have reservations or concerns about communicating with the school. </p></li><li><p>Ms. Tan could bypass Raul by using a direct phone call, email, or letter in the mail. She should make sure whatever is being sent home to his family is in the home language. She also should reassure the family that there will be a translator for future meetings.</p></li></ol>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>#1 </p><p>One reason there might be a lack of response, is because his mother might not be able to read the letters due to a language barrier. Another reason is that she might not have access to the internet or a phone to be able to respond. </p><p><br/></p><p>#2</p><p>She could try to speak to a different family member who may speak better English. She could also do a home visit and make sure a translator comes with her. A home visit will also eliminate any issues of electronic communication.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

We recommended a family meeting to discuss why Victor is talking back, both at home and in school. We also said to have another family member become involved to potentially give Victor more structure. </p></li><li><p>Some resources we recommended were churches, school counselors, cultural nights and the boy scouts. </p></li></ol>]]></description>
