I believe the position of Chief Executive is the most important role a president can have. As well as overseeing the nation and the American people, the president must oversee his government (more specifically the executive branch). The role of Chief Executive is a test to see how much of a leader the president can be.

Least Important Role:
Chief Economist 
If the president isn't well verse in economy, they might not know what to keep track off or pay attention to. Even if the president was highly education and knowledgeable about economics, if they see something worrying in the economy, there isn't much they can do.
