As for me, a well structured curriculum can serve as a pacing guide and explicit frame for the teacher to organize lessons and units in a coherent and tiered manner. An effective curriculum setting may lead both the teacher and students to become creative thinkers and producers.

I used to work as a Chinese Language and Culture teacher in an IB Middle school. The school provided me with a systematic trans-disciplinary curriculum that I could use as a guidebook to devise my lessons based on the connections to other subjects. In this way, my teaching objectives and content could be scaffolded according to students' main learning theme and central ideas.

Since I hope that I could have the opportunity to work in a secondary school teaching Chinese as a foreign language, I wish that I could obtain practical strategies by which I am able to embed more inquiry-based and research-based projects in devising the curriculum.

I am always looking for better approaches to activate and promote secondary students' multiple intelligence, herein, I believe that a productive and scientific curriculum may lay a solid foundation for this goal.

I am currently teaching online Chinese Course offered by Confucius Institute at MSU. Hopefully I could get an opportunity to work in a secondary school teaching Chinese language and culture (or CFL) when I graduate.
