         <description><![CDATA[<div>Different levels of digital fluency is expected at different ages. Technology neophytes for example are in grade four and are expected to have basic fluency in computers such as turning on/off computers, knowing the functions of a mouse, use a digital camera, understand how google operates, basic robotics and should be enthusiastic towards technology (Howell 2013, p.133) however, this can’t be assumed for all students as accessibility differs from students and schools.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>As educators it is our requirement to model and instruct so that the students may independently engage with technology and start innovating to see what they can and cannot do.</div><div>The more they work with technology the more they discover new uses and begin to understand the process of inquiry learning and problem solving (Howell 2013, p.137). By providing them with access to a variety of different technologies it provides them with opportunities to solve problems independently and leads to powerful learning experiences. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>As the internet continues to play such a crucial role within our lives, being digitally fluent ensures learning is students continue to engross themselves in as digital fluency becomes a prerequisite for our future.</div><div> </div><div>London based Social enterprise, Fluency, tackles youth unemployment by training young people by getting them jobs in the digital economy. Manus writes that they “train low income women with digital skills that are in demand so that they could become digital freelances” (Manus 2013 para. 2). By training these young people in digital fluency, they are potentially creating film makers, web bloggers, website designers, graphic designers, the list of endless opportunities. This is an excellent example of how digital fluency can influence the successful pathways that students can take to ensure employability for the future.<br><br></div>]]></description>
