1:Its homeland is the Indus Valley (India/Pakistan), where it has been cultivated for 7-8 thousand years. Today, the largest producers are China, India and the USA.

2:Cotton was first used around 5000 BC. It was widespread in ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, China and Peru, but was only introduced to Europe by the Arabs in the 1st century AD.

3:Soft, breathable and good moisture absorption properties, its main areas of use are clothing items (T-shirts, jeans), towels, bedding, cotton wool, bandages.

4:The downside is that it wrinkles easily, dries slowly after washing, is less flexible, and its color may fade over time.
