On page 41, Mrs. Wilson shouted "Daisy! Daisy! Daisy! I'll say whatever I want to! Daisy! Dai-" Making a short deft movement Tom Buchanan broke her nose with his open hand. Then there were bloody towels upon the bathroom floor and women's voices scolding, and high over the confusion a long broken wail of pain.

This passage shows that Tom is extremely disrespectful and has no morals because he hit a woman. Despite the fact that he is cheating on his wife, he has the nerve to punch his mistress in the face.

"Why" Jordan said hesitantly, "Tom's got some woman in New York" (Fitzgerald 19).

Tom is cheating on his wife Daisy with another woman.

In Chapter 7, " She's not leaving me!" Tom's words suddenly leaned down over Gatsby. "Certainly not for a common swindler who'd have to steal the ring he put on her finger"(Fitzgerald 140).

This quote shows Tom is concerned about his wife and feels that he deserves to still be with her over Gatsby. Also instead of confronting Gatsby in a proper manner, he is acting childish.

"Perhaps I am, but I have a -- almost a second sight, sometimes, that tells me what to do"(Fitzgerald 128).

This quote displays Toms anger and how he is attacking Tom and Daisy when they are in the car. He didn't need to buy a three hundred and fifty thousand dollar string of pearls, that is just over the top and unnecessary.
