A 16-year old girl had commit suicide that happened in Batu Kawah, Sarawak  after 69 percent of her Instagram followers had voted for her to commit suicide. 

In a letter posted to MalaysiaKini, Ramkarpal Singh, M-P from DAP, said it was an important reminder of how some netizens could have actually condoned a suicide issue.

Therefore, It is necessary to urge the Communications and Multimedia Ministry to investigate the social media accounts of the victim, he continued.

The sixteen years old Sarawakian girl who was not named posted on her instagram story asking her fans to choose either D or L hours before her fall. An investigation is currently being conducted post-moterm to determine if there were other factors in her death that might have added on to the girls depression. Instagram reviewed the teenagers account and found that the poll ended with 88% of fans voting for L said Wong Ching Yee, the Instagram had of communications in Asia pacific
