My role was to help the young girls socialize and develop trust with people they never met. I also helped teach them how to become a better player and a great teammate. I believe I learned a lot from this experience and so did these young girls. I learned how to get young girls to speak with each other and not be anti-social. But most of the girls were very open with me and wanted help and it felt like they were blossoming throughout all the clinics. I feel that I learned how to do this by having older girls do that to me before when I was younger and going to camps. I was very scared to open up and talk to people I didn't know but those older girls helped me and now I want to do the same. Many of the girls only wanted to be with their friends instead of making new ones. There were also a lot of lonely girls who didn't want to participate in many of the activities but I had to  tell them it was okay. Eventually, as more clinics passed, they started to be more open and I started to notice friendships being made. At first, it was very hard to get these young girls to talk to each other, but when the moment they finally did, I felt proud. Then towards the last few clinics held, I noticed the girls were way more excited to come and have conversations with their new friends. At the beginning, half of the girls didn't want to come but that changed over time and I love it. For me it was very easy to start a conversation with them and talk about softball with them. Some of them were really nice and caring. A lot of them were very passionate about the sport and it was a great conversation. I felt like my relationship with the girls developed over time and I felt like they really trusted me in the end. God was present in this relationship because he helped both the girls and I be open in our relationships. God helped watch over everyone so no one would get hurt in the process of getting better. Everyone deserves to be treated with the same respect and everyone needed patience because they were little girls. I offered my kindness and a helping hand if it was needed. I reached out to every girl and got a hand back as well. I served justice in my relationship by helping all these girls equally. I had no favorites and did not only help out specific girls. These girls offered me kindness as well and allowed me to help them when they needed it. They allowed me into their space and gave me respect like they would to their parents or teachers. All the girls were very generous and responsible. It was such a great experience and I would love to do it again. These girls showed me a lot of new ways to help someone if they needed me. My happiest memory was at the end of clinics, we all got in a circle and did a chant. The girls absolutely loved it and the smiles on their faces made my days. Another memory that was my favorite was when one of the girls got hurt and everyone single one of them asked her if she was okay and was there to help her. These girls started to look like a family. Being on a softball team is about loving and helping each other and being a good teammate. It was nice getting to know new people who enjoy a sport so much and want to talk about it almost every second of the day. It really makes me proud how much these girls have learned from the beginning to the end and have put it forward. I hope that they use their new people skills, as well as their softball skills, and PAY IT FORWARD. I'm beyond glad that I was able to teach these girls what it means to be a good teammate as well as a good friend. For the future, I hope that they use their experience and put it to use when they get to high school and get to have another family of amazing players. I hope that God watches over them and reminds them that they need to be positive and kind so that It will come back to them. Positivity is something we need to spread throughout the world because it is already so cruel and full of hate.
