The authors explain the scaffolding for the memoir. These are the following steps: 1. Introduce with mentor texts 2. Brainstorm literacy experiences 3. Create identity web 4. Annotate a timeline of experiences in order to analyze critical patterns  etc...Overall, this unit teaches students to have empathy in a world that "...is dominated by the hegemony of the larger society and not really the 'lever of revolutionary transformation.'"<br><br></div>]]></description>
