The foundation sponsors nonprofit programs that have world-changing potential or the ability to shift public attitudes and build awareness of important causes. Glenn Bucksbaum established the foundation in 2003, and it has since provided financial and strategic support to more than 100 nonprofits. In addition to his role as president of The Baum Foundation, Mr. Bucksbaum served on the board of directors of the Berkeley Art Museum and previously worked on conservation projects with Ocean Conservancy and The Nature Conservancy.
