(2) If voting by mail or ballot box drop, follow the instructions exactly when filling out your ballot. Ballots completed incorrectly are not counted. If your state asks for a signature, match it to whatever signature the state has on file for you (eg. ID signature). This is how some states verify your ballot. Some states will ask for 1 to 2 witnesses to also sign.
(3) Return your ballot ASAP, by mail or by ballot box. This year the mail delivery system is slower than usual and some states will not accept mail in ballots past 11/3/20. Return your ballot as soon as you receive it (or as soon as you can).  USPS recommends returning your ballot at least one week before the election (before 10/27/20).
(4) Voting early (in person) is an option in some states! "Texas is one of seven states that isn’t allowing absentee voting over concerns about coronavirus. But it has expanded early voting for in-person locations by six more days. Be on the alert for a message that there’s a problem with your ballot. In Boston if your ballot is rejected You’ll be notified by your local election official along with the reason why, and you’ll be sent a new ballot if there is time. You also have the option of voting in person before 8 p.m. on Election Day.

In Boston: "Ahead of the Nov. 3 general election, the law expands the state’ 10-day early voting period to 14 days, from Saturday, Oct. 17 to Friday, Oct. 30.
