ISIS is forcefully recruiting children every day. They are targeting young boys that are only 12 years old. What makes it worse is that ISIS is posting pictures and videos of the boys carrying guns. The children are being trained for their military who then go and overthrow local communities. Often the boys are forced to execute citizens as a sign of the boys loyalty to the group. A recent account of this was when a boy shot two Russian spies that were caught by ISIS.
The rhetorical method used is pathos because it references children and how they are forced to do bad things. Seeing the children would make people feel bad for them.

The extremist group ISIS is always on the news for their evil actions of beheading innocent citizens. The U.S. should move our military to prevent them from continuing their savage crusade. The leaders of many countries agree that this behavior is unconstitutional and immoral. It is our country's duty to prevent such violent and unethical action that is raining down upon the innocent people of the Middle East.

The rhetorical strategy used in this is ethos because it talks about a moral topic of beheading people.

Some countries don't have the military effectiveness that the U.S. has. America has been a super power for a long time and has the best military there is. The U.S. has larger fleets, bigger infantry, faster missiles and planes, and a nuclear arsenal larger than any other. ISIS is like that one kid in 6th grade that no one liked because he always picked on the little guy. The U.S. is the older brother who doesn't like what he see's and is waiting to give him a pounding. Therefore, the U.S. should step up and help out other countries who can't fend for themselves and need our help. The rhetorical strategy used here is pathos because everyone can relate to middle school when someone was picked on, or they were the one getting picked on and didn't like it.

Ever since the U.S. with drew our troops back in 2009 ISIS has grown by a staggering 4,400% under Obama's presidency. This is made up of recruits from over 90 countries, totaling around 3,400 new soldiers. They have gone to destroy many religious sites and cities. This has totaled 230,000 deaths and has left millions more homeless. Some people have predicted that it would only take 30,000 U.S. troops to defeat ISIS. However, with careful strategy and planning, the use of our weaponry and drones should be enough to weaken ISIS to the point where the amount of troops would be a much lower number. This passage uses the rhetorical strategy of logos because it presents many facts and numbers to argue that the U.S. should be involved in the middle east defeating ISIS.

ISIS is an extremist group that started in Iraq and Syria. Through the years they have grown to a large military force that is now located in over 18 countries. They terrorize local communities by killing people, recruiting the children boys, and beheading people. Ever since U.S. troops have been withdrawn from the middle east in 2009 ISIS has grown and spread all throughout many eastern countries. Unless action is taken to stop the terrorist organisation they will continue to thrive and take control of more countries.
