         <description><![CDATA[<p>-The first radio broadcast in history took place on Christmas Eve 1906, when the song 'O Holy Night' and some Bible verses could be heard from Brant Rock Station (Massachusetts).</p><p>-In 1910, Henry H.C. Dunwoody and Greenleaf Whittier Pickard invented the galena radio, the first radio device in history. This AM (Amplitude Modulated) radio receiver detected radio signals in the medium and short wave band.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>-The first Spanish radio experimenter, Matías Balsera, founded the first Madrid association of radio amateurs and broadcast an opera from the Teatro Real in Madrid in 1912.</p><p><br></p><p>-Between 1923 and 1924, the first broadcasts were made on Radio Ibérica in Madrid. The first radio station in Spain was EAJ-1 Radio Barcelona and the second was EAJ-2 Radio de Madrid.</p><p><br></p><p>-23 February 1981 was an important day in the history of radio in Spain. That night, Spanish society was able to follow live on radio the attempted coup d'état that took place in the Congress of Deputies.</p><p><br></p><p>-Known as 'La Noche de los Transistores' (The Night of the Transistors), that day marked the consolidation of radio as a news medium.</p>]]></description>
