Now staying home is ordinary

No one knows when we will be free 

Or when we can see or family off the screen 

Or without 2 meters in between 

When you walk down your street 

You only hear your feet 

And the cars that do go by 

Are key workers, saving you and I 

The shops were empty 

But now there’s plenty 

Because people were afraid of starving 

So they brought toilet rolls and  pot noodles, bargain! 

So everyone’s staying home 

Some together, others alone 

But we need to remember, staying away from family and friends 

Keeps us all safe until this ends 

Things may seem scary 

But we need to be wary 

Because we can start to kill Coronavirus

With the power of spreading kindness 

 

She wakes up every day with worry and fear. 

A slight smile on her face trying to be fierce.

Worrying about her hoping she's good and hoping that our tears won't flood. 

 

She arrives on her ward in her blue uniform.

She put her protection on and is ready to battle.

Her hands are red raw from her gloves and washing her hands.                

She tries to save people and comfort the dying but risks her own life

Her face indented from the masks, she was worn out ready to quit but she carried on protecting us and everyone in the world. 

What a hero 

The happiness on our faces as she walks through the door, you're safe.

But when she sits down at the table and tells us the tale of the virus that is ruining our lives and creating a national crisis. 

 

We are so proud of you mum.

You will always be our hero. 

Day after day night after night she continues to fight for what's right.

Food shelves empty like the classrooms, there was panic from the start.

Seeing family upon a screen,

Friends from school who you haven’t seen.

I listen to the silence, as still as the night,

People in their houses, holding each other tight. 

The sound of people busily buying food,

Families spending time together, lightening up the mood.

The smell of fear from people not wanting to leave their homes,

In the garden, talking to the gnomes!

Helping in the kitchen, it smells like chocolate cake,

Dreams of all the Easter cards and cookies we could make.

The worry in belly, struggling to know what is going on,

Hoping my Nan and granddad won’t be gone.

My heart beating quickly deep in my chest,

Constantly think of friends and family as well as all the rest.

Licking delicious chocolate off of my fingers, as an early Easter treat

Like the frantic feeling when you want much more to eat.

I may be lonely like a house on a hill,

But I would stay forever if it stops people from being ill. 

There was no such thing as plenty.

Of provisions, we had none,

Even loo rolls were gone,

In the lockdown of 2020.

 

Before the 2020 lockdown,

The sky was a shade of grey-brown.

But now the sky's blue,

So without further ado,

I can say corona's not really a let down.

 

For my 2020 lockdown plan,

I'm thinking of trying to get a tan,

But all the airport are closed,

So that's out of the window i suppose,

So I'll think about before this began.

 

I know these times are really hard,

So pretend to be superman in your yard.

I bet that you will find a cure

and fix everyone, I'm sure

And if you don't ill be really alarmed

Strange world we live in.

We could not hug or touch. We stayed 2 meters apart.We had to wash our hands 100 times a day while singing a silly song.The supermarket ran out of pasta and toilet roll very strange times we are living in right now. Feels so wrong.

When ever we cough or sneeze we have to do it in a tissue. Catch it, bin it and again wash our hands.Dads working from home to keep his distance. He’s not alone.

Mum is a key worker she does a super job I am very proud of her. She has to wear funny gloves, a apron to maybe prevent the germs coming home with her.

we clap for everyone on a Thursday to keep us all united and stay STRONG.As a family we had to stay home.We have read books, and listened to music. We have exercised, and made art, a lot of school work we didn’t know where to start.

Boris Johnson says we are on lockdown for goodness knows how long. He says it’s  a pandemic and spreads in the air, let’s not panic.I miss my family but we are pulling together and doing our part. Stay home, stay safe keep 2 meters apart.Some people grew strong, some prayed, some danced. Some met their neighbours.We began to think differently. A lot of lives lost and the NHS will struggle but in time people will heal.

People we never met will cook us a meal.Keeping social distance and washing our hands will stop the spread.Mum said not worry and go to bed.The world will mourn the dead but hopefully we will find a vaccine and all this will be in the past.Stay home, stay safe keep 2 meters apart.Remember the worlds a healer and people will pick up from where it all started and we will all join and be united.

Over the world Covid-19 says hey

Countries infected but coping with it

Kind people trying to do their bit

Do you know who’s really the people to thank

Our NHS and how they are working at all ranks

Will we find a way I'm sure 

Now all we need to do is lock the door

 

I haven’t gone ill.

I haven’t closed my eyes,

But something inside

Just doesn’t feel right.

 

My work has been much harder,

Now that school is gone.

But to get through the day,

I must hone all of my strengths.

 

However, there is a bright side,

To this horrible lockdown

I get more time with family

And… I get more sleep!

 

Six weeks with nothing to do. 

 

Outside is where I’ve been the most 

Loving the sun on my face as I think why did we be isolated on days 

As sunny as these.

Too much of my time is spent on schoolwork as I realize how much 

Isolation sucks!!! 

One day I hope we can be free again and 

Never have this problem again.

Dear Coronavirus, look at what chaos you brought us, 

Forcing people to leave with a fuss,

Living through lockdown is quite a challenge,

Many returning with nothing to scavenge,

Taking up activities that are entirely new,

Hanging out will only a little few,

So who are we to really thank here,

The NHS is who we adore,

Doing there job to defeat it,

And others trying to do their bit.

All over the world people are slowing down and reflecting. All over the world people are looking at their neighbours in a new way. All over the world people are waking up to a new reality – To how big we really are. To how little control we really have. To what really matters. To Love and save lives,

Thank you to the NHS and everyone who is taking part in trying to save us from this unpleasant, chaotic virus.

Going to work and school before our dreadful surprise

Our everyday problems now seem so small 

Now a deadly virus worries us all

An enemy so big and strong

We do not know what we did wrong

But do not fear or have trouble sleeping

Because the NHS are there for our safekeeping.

Schools are closed and workplaces shut down, the whole of Britain is on lockdown.

We’ve got to stay home it’s the safest place to be, we can only go out for essentials and PE.

All the key workers are going to work, keeping the country going while the virus lurks.

I'd like to say thanks to the NHS, they are on the front line and doing their best.

I'm missing my family, friends and school too but thanks to technology I can say how are you.

I hope this virus is gone very soon, I’ve had enough of all the doom and gloom.

To save our country we must show pride.

The virus was spreading from pillar to post.

My new takeaway soon to be beans on toast

My nan now facetimes which is really a crime

But this is the new way of our time.

My football and cadets is all in the past

But we have a new way of life which wont last 

Excel Academy is now in my bedroom

Some days I feel it is like a lost tomb

My brother is annoying I’m with him 24/7

But my mum says be grateful as many are in heaven.

For 70 years from the cradle to the grave

The body of the NHS our families lives you’ve saved

Staff the life blood keeping the NHS flowing

Patients and their families coming and going

The limbs of departments span functions too numerous to count

Volumes of admissions every day they mount

The heart of the system beating fast

Progressing and moving forward from the days of the past

From cardiology neurology high dependency and critical care

Caring health professionals for our family have always been there

To nurse us through the traumatic times in our life

From emergency admissions to the surgeon’s knife

You put back the pieces when we break and fall

A constant safety net available in the UK to all

An incredible institution second to none

We’d be sadly off if resources and funding had gone

So here’s to another 70 years let’s hope there will be

Still an NHS in our country serving you and me.

W- Wishing and hoping our loved ones stay swell

N-NHS is fighting to keep us all well

We are in a pandemic,

When will this end!

Looking out of the window at a quiet street

Outside its always sunny but we must stay inside

Coping with a new system of rules

Kicking a ball with my friends is where I would like to be

Doing work at home instead of in my school class

Outside is where I would like to be

Winning the battle against this virus I hope soon

NHS are the heroes of this generation

Orders have been received by the government to stay inside and isolate if any symptoms 

Respect for the nhs for helping us survive through this pandemic

Outside is dark and dull due to no one being allowed out

News on tv only shows the deaths of people but not the survivors of this pandemic as well

All children hate home learning and the fact that it is sometimes harder than actual school work 

 

Vision for the future is giving some people anxiety and depression 

Idiots are still roaming the streets and are going on the park and playing sports with friends 

Respiratory systems are most affected by the virus 

Unsupervised children at home are forced to do home learning by their school 

Suspected that isolation could end by the end of the year 

Classrooms have got smaller,
The pupils less engaged.
Stay at home they tell us,
So that lives can be saved.

Will this lockdown ever end?
Will we ever see the light?
When all this is over,
Who will have won the fight?

The world has temporarily stopped,
And a new life has begun.
Isolation is our only friend,
Stay safe, until the battle is won!

Lockdown came in a heavy storm and blew the public off their feet,

Families separated , shaved heads

Life slowed down , time to stop and smell the roses

Nature taken for granted , economy going bump

In america theres caos thanks to Trump,

Silly kids still meeting friends

When will this nightmare end

Saving people’s lives

Although they can hear these horrible cries,

They risk their lives everyday,

When they just want to hear someone say 

“Don’t worry anymore” 

And they can just walk right out the door,    

everyone hopes this will all end soon,

So they can enjoy their morning and afternoon
