This book started off slowly, but after the first 100 pages I became interested in the story. What intrigued me the most was if Vlad and his family was actually communist because the author portrayed their family as "red". Although Richard was not a good friend by spying and snitching on Vlad and his family, I understand his motive and reason behind going behind their backs. The ending was not the most satisfying because after the fight they had, it ended abruptly. Overall it was a good book, and I was invested in the plot.

Station Eleven

I enjoyed this book very much because it got to the point very quickly. It moved fast and didn't linger on any one topic for too long. I also liked this because it was a topic I could relate to (Pandemic). I liked the characters also, especially Miranda and Aurther. This book's message was "The power of art can bring light into very dark situations".

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder

This was my favorite book I have read so far. Following along as Pip solved the Murder of Andie Bell and Sal Singh was intriguing and enveloping. The book had many plot twists, and in the end, every little detail and clue in the book made sense. The little added romance between two of the people trying to solve the murders kept me engaged. The ending left me speechless, and was a great finish to an incredible story.

The Cheerleaders

This book was overall a great read. It was a little bit gruesome and gory when they were recalling some of the deaths that occurred. It was an interesting murder mystery because it was solving 5 different deaths that were all connected. This story is also about grief because the main character's sister died. Overall it was intriguing and I kept turning the pages to see what would happen next.

Good Girl Bad Blood

This book was an intense and suspenseful read. Pip’s journey shows how far someone will go to uncover the truth, even when if puts them in danger. It made me think about the importance of standing up for others and how finding the truth can come at a cost. Although this book was not relevant to the last book in the series, this was still interesting.

If He Had Been With Me

This book was not very interesting but was incredibly sad. The ending was unfortunate and was not an enjoyable finish. The plot was a bit boring at times and didn't have much depth. I did get attached to all the different characters' quirks, but in the end, it was all different. This book shows the importance of not waiting to express your feelings for someone because it might be too late if you wait too long.

Magnolia Parks

This book was not a great read. The drama felt over the top, and the characters made so many bad decisions that it was hard to feel sorry for them. It got frustrating because they kept going in circles without really growing or changing. This book felt like the same 50 pages on repeat, and there was no development with the characters. Overall, it just wasn’t a story I connected with.

When We Collided

I would have enjoyed this book more if the main character was not as weird. She was not relatable and was a bit annoying at times. This was a decent romance, but the ending made me annoyed because it wasn't the ending everyone wanted. The main character slowly started losing her sanity and ended badly, resulting in a tragic love ending.

Everything We Never Said

This book was very good and interesting. The fact that Ella falls in love with her dead best friend's boyfriend introduces some important moral questions. Although this wasn't a relatable story, this had me engaged and I was motivated to finish the book. This story is an important read about grief and recovering from a loss.

On The Come Up

On the Come Up was a tough story about Bri’s struggle with haters, manipulation, and violence. Following along as Bri managed to find a voice within the stereotypes and pressures of rapping was important. This story was all about her journey of self-discovery and passion for rap. Overall this a book I would recommend to others.

Caraval

This book was incredible. Every page was so detailed and had many sensory details. It was the first fantasy book I read. Overall, the story had me questioning what was real and what was fake, and who you can trust. The magic in the book was fun to read and the plot was deep and had many plot twists towards the end. This book's overall theme is friendship, trust, and magic. I think the message of the book was that freedom goes beyond escaping one person, it's about paving your own path and living your life how you choose.

One of us is Lying

This was overall not my favorite book. I have read many murder mysteries, and this did not compare to others. The plot was not structured and was all over the place, and the ending was not surprising and unsatisfying. I would not reccomend this to someone else.

The Outsiders

This book was amazing. I enjoyed that characters, the plot, and the development. I became attached to each character and was left heartbroken after the ending. In the end, everyone learned a lesson that violence doesn't solve conflict, and only causes bad things to happen. I think that this is an important book for students and teens to read because it teaches an important lesson that everyone can benefit from hearing.
