The benefits of B-Roll to the film is extremely helpful. B-Roll should be just as important as other types of films such as A-Roll because it engages the audience. Unlike filming a person's face for more than 10 seconds, B-Roll allows a very creative approach. In order to make a successful B-Roll, you must incorporate a "Sequence", "The rule of 180", "Anticipation", and "Angles". Sequences in B-Roll consists of "CU" (Close-Up), "MS" (Medium-Shot), and "WS" (Wide-Shot). The rule of 180 is a shot type in which the main objects that's filmed is aligned in a 180 degree so that camera shot types can vary in many creative ways. Anticipation is were the camera and the object is moving in the same direction so the audience feels like they are present in the film! Last but not least, Angles are important for the overall film to correctly engage the audience. In filming, it's important to film a section of the video for 10 seconds so that the editor can edit in various ways. In some cases, the object you are trying to film may be fast such as cars. In this case, you don't need to turn your camera fast, you can smooth a video out without turning. For example, you do not need to film a car by turning your camera but to simply let the car go out of the film. In conclusion, B-Roll is a very beneficial way to film like a professional.
