         <description><![CDATA[<div><br></div><div>The process encourages students to create and end with a product that they actually release out into the world. The process promotes problem-solving, critical thinking, and imagination<br><br><strong>The LAUNCH phases:</strong></div><ul><li><strong>Phase 1- Look, Listen, and Learn</strong><ul><li>Students will see or experience something and generate an idea or issue.</li><li>Teacher may have students conduct interviews, assessments, or observations.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Phase 2- Ask a lot of questions</strong><ul><li>Students will develop a set of questions they can use to help them understand and solve the issue/problem</li><li>Teachers can facilitate this using the <mark>Q-focus technique</mark> (see below) </li></ul></li><li><strong>Phase 3- Understand the Problem and Process</strong><ul><li>Students gather information to answer questions and generate new ideas for a solution.</li><li>Teachers provide structure and support based on needs of the class.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Phase 4- Navigate Ideas</strong><ul><li>Students collaborate to brainstorm their multiple ideas and form a plan of action.</li><li>Teachers move students toward a clear idea or concept of what they will make. They may provide a plan of action template. </li></ul></li><li><strong>Phase 5- Create</strong><ul><li>Students begin building their first model.</li><li>Teachers help students locate materials and space for their projects.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Phase 6- Highlight what is working/failing and REVISE</strong><ul><li>Students determine what is working and what isn't. They change their design based on these observations.</li><li>Teachers help students self-assess their projects for quality and revise their work.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Phase 7- Launch Time! </strong><ul><li>Students send or present their work to an audience and convince others that the design is useful and productive.</li><li>Teachers help students reach out to these audiences and relay feedback.</li></ul></li></ul><div><br><br></div>]]></description>
