A computer, or any gadget, has memory when it can save any data, both temporarily or permanently.

The types of memory are two: Volatile and non-volatile memory. The difference between this two is that in volatile memory whatever changes where made and not manually saved, are lost whenever the gadget shuts down. On the other hand, non-volatile memory automatically saves changes and data made on the gadget even if it was not saved manually.

Examples: RAM, (which stands for Random Access Memory) is an example of volatile memory, while EPROM and Flash memory, have a non-volatile memory.
There are types of ram that are: DDR, SDRAM, DDR2, DDR3, DDR4, and EDO.
Note: Don't confuse Memory with Disk storage!
