Shel Silverstein was an American writer, cartoonist, songwriter, and musician. He was born on September 25, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, and died on May 10, 1999, in Key West, Florida. His works cover various fields such as children's literature, poetry, and songwriting, and have been translated into more than 47 languages, with sales of over 20 million copies.

Here are some famous poems he has written before:

《Where the Sidewalk Ends》

The poem depicts a wonderful world at the end of the sidewalk, where the grass is soft and white, the sun is bright red, and the moon-bird takes a rest. Through vivid descriptions, it creates a dreamy atmosphere, stimulating readers' yearning and imagination for the unknown and beautiful world, full of childlike innocence and romantic charm.

《A Light in the Attic》

This poem conveys the idea that the world is full of infinite possibilities with simple sentences. "Anything can happen, child, / Anything can be." It inspires children to pursue their dreams bravely, making them believe that everything is possible and igniting their longing and hope for the future in their hearts.

《One Inch Tall》

The poet imagines that if a person were only one inch tall, they would ride a worm to school and an ant's tear would be their swimming pool. It shows the fun of the microscopic world from a unique perspective, allowing readers to see the world from a new angle and experience the wonderful things in life that have been overlooked.

《A Giving Tree》

The story tells that a tree selflessly gives the boy everything, from the fruit, branches to the trunk, and finally only the stump. It shows the love of selfless dedication, and also triggers people to think about the relationship between demand and giving. It is a classic children's literature.
