 " well because I'm 11 but 12 in a few weeks I have to let mom and dad do a lot for me you, Liam and Alanna ( older siblings) too I suppose, but I still have a lot of control unlike some people in school like I make my own lunch so I pick what's in it but I pick from the food mom and dad buy for us which is healthy so they are looking after me in that sense but they dont whats the word helicopter parent me I have me choices choices " 
 
 What are the spaces where you voice is heard ?
 "Cause I'm in 6th class my Muinteor (which is also the principal) asks us about things like what new books we should be getting to update our library for drop everthing and read time. My class are also in charge of playing with the younger kids every wednesdays this is where we have space to share our ideas like a game or tell them things like what not to do like lying of speaking English ( she goes to a gaelscoil)." 
 My younger sister being the youngest some times gets the short end of the straw when it comes to having a say but once a week she gets to pick what we have for dinner it's usually shepards pie her favourite.
 My dad pushes us all to exercise but we are the ones that choose what it is we do and when, my sister is a big fan of cycling and but especially mountain biking her my dad and brother all do this together my dad organises the driving and making sure bikes are ready but my siblings help and are hands on.
 
 When is a time tou remember tour ideas being heard?
 "do you remember a few summers ago when mom and dad couldn't decide where to make our next stop while camping in Mayo but when they went to the shop we planned and organised to go to Achill and we found a camp site and shops and surfing rentail places for us I remember that as a time i was heard!" 
 
 These are very few things my little sister has a say in beyond our home and school but the influence she does have plays a large roll in making her more independent and capably person as she grows up. 
 
 Last question what things would you want people who make decision to hear ? 
 
 " I would want those people who make things happen, to push everyone to walk,cycle or scooter to school some of the way as leaset the last bit of the way like our hill up to the school cause I scooter up and it's harder when there are a bunch of car plus think of all the fumes and pollution you would stop " 
 Anything else ? 
 " yah there should be a child government like imagen if there where kids who had to same kind of roles as the Taoisech we could get paid or not I dont know ,just that we could talk about how stuff will effect us kids at meetings, kinda like who we do that at our dinner table we all get to talk not just mom and dad I think that would be a good idea " .

If you were able to vote when you were 16/17 I think that children’s voices would be listened to more by politicians because they would want your vote so that they could stay in Government. Or maybe 16/17 year olds could be able to have a platform in the Oireachtas where they could air their views about laws that are put in place to protect children and their rights such as Coco’s Law.
Maybe you both could think up a way of how to help us, as children, to voice our views in the Dáil/Oireachtas around issues that affect us. For example Vaccinations for COVID-19 (Why were we left till last), bullying (eg. Some schools have bullying policies on paper, but that are not in practice!) and general issues that affect children's education. Of course, those children who would be in the Dáil/Oireachtas (for example the Dáil na nÓg, a picture of which I am attaching to this padlet) would have a platform to talk to people with diverse views, like we talk to each other on Zoom every Friday!
