         <title>UNCRC Article 16 Right to privacy </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Article 16 Every child has the right to privacy. The law must protect children’s privacy, family, home, communications and reputation (or good name) from any attack.</p><p><br></p><p>Perhaps interrelated is Article 17 the Right to information.  Children have the right to get information from the Internet, radio, television, newspapers, books and other sources. Adults should make sure the information they are getting is not harmful. Governments should encourage the media to share information from lots of different sources, in languages that all children can understand.</p>]]></description>

         <title>Secrecy/personal information activity</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Confidentiality activity where volunteers are asked to write down a secret or piece of personal information on a piece of paper. They must hand it in to the trainer/place it in an envelope to give to the trainer who who doesn’t explain what they will do with it.&nbsp; Different variants –&nbsp;e.g. secrets placed in a container on display in the centre of the room/put in a drawer.</p><p>Trainer returns the piece of paper at the end of the session and asks reflective questions around sharing of personal, sensitive information. &nbsp;&nbsp;This is followed by a reflection on record keeping in children’s social care and scrutiny of sensitive information e.g. at CLA reviews in</p><p>front of the child –&nbsp;relating back to independence of IV role in relation to information</p><p>sharing.</p>]]></description>
