Creating a routine which requires you to move around!

During this period I believe it’s crucial to create a routine which requires you to move around. For example if you’re working from home, don’t work In the same space you will have lunch in. Create an environment that’s similar to your work one. Eat at the same time you have lunch at work and don’t take any extra time. I start off getting ready I’m the morning as if I was going to work then sit down at a desk with my laptop and begin. If your work doesn’t require you to constantly be at the desk, then I would say learn a new skill (very beneficial) or read a book. Some companies are offering free courses online and now is that time to go for it! Don’t forget your leisure time. This is the most important as you always need to wind down after a day of work! I’ve found that working out in the morning also helps, so please guys don’t skip your morning jog or even 30 star jumps!!! Hope everyone is staying positive throughout this time. ❤️ Thank you to Rhos Lab for creating this space for us to share!🙌🏿

Mark.

Routine is crucial. It provides structure, consistency, order and discipline. Things are so unconventional right now that I am doing my best to establish a routine that prepares for life after Carona. In the morning I start my day by making my bed. I then proceed to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face with a bar of Cetaphil soap. I start my coffee, read scripture and then read a little from one of my books (“12 Rules For Life” by Jordan Peterson and “The Wait” by DeVon Franklin & Meagan Good are what I’m reading now). I then proceed to plan out my day. Starting my day with this routine touches the essentials of my life. Setting my home in order is important to me so I start my day with making my bed. Hygiene is vital so I make sure to brush my teeth and wash my face (every other day so that my combination skin doesn’t dry out). I pray and read scripture to connect to my spiritual source. I read to exercise my mind and I plan my day to set an intention and focus for the day reminding me of my goals. It is quite a bit but it is extremely helpful. I notice a difference when I don’t practice this routine too. My day isn’t as productive. Routine is crucial in a time of chaos and disarray. Practicing this now will also prepare me for life after the Carona virus. Self care is vital at all times but especially when things get sticky. Maybe try sticking to your own solid routine that you can do every day. It helps me a lot. Love. Peace. Soul.

- Skye Ife Adebowale
