Staff are being redeployed within Trusts, and vast amounts of therapeutic face to face contact has been lost. 
The general population is likely to experience a marked increase in mental illness recovering from the trauma of the pandemic. In addition we will have to support patients whose care has been so painfully and radically interrupted.
As we look ahead, two to three months down the line, what are your thoughts on how services should respond? How should we nurses respond?

We have had a drop however, in numbers, of our regular attendees and I do wonder how they are managing during the lockdown. 
I do have major concerns about how overwhelmed an already overwhelmed system will become in managing trauma of staff, keyworkers and carers, as well as supporting patients already under care teams, whilst also protecting our own mental health. Due to family illness followed by bereavement I've not been at work during the crisis but I've had a few conversations with colleagues and my manager. 
What I think will have changed is the use of video calling. It was under discussion prior to this with staff not being too keen but  circumstances took over. I'm a CAMHS team lead and our waiting list is an ongoing issue. I suspect this will be even more of an issue afterwards unless a buffer is put round CAMHS offering some life skills and anxiety management. 
I am anxious about my team but that's more related to feeling I've abandoned them.

We really need to continue to use this for video calls with children and families. This can help improve access and see how you can help manage situations in the present time, rather than it being proactive or reactive strategies. This will surely need new interventions that work in real time.
We need to be mindful that not al families will have access to the internet or have a device this would work on, so this probably needs to be thought through about how we can ensure they do have access when receiving help- surely this would easily be offset against travel expenses.
If we have an opportunity to work differently, I would take that opportunity with both hands than remaining working in archaic pathways and service models. The opportunity to have webinars, video information and podcasts that children and families and other professionals can look at at any time will be revolutionary, information shared is shared power.
