According to the author, David Crary, the percent of children suffering from physical, sexual, or emotional abuse, has gone down by 26%. Apparently, awareness campaigns have been highly effective.

Other influential factors include, drugs, poverty, and domestic violence.

In conclusion, my partner and I realized that there was more to our research question than expected. As stated above, physically abusive parents receive a jail sentence of a couple of days to one year. We feel, and hope most other people do, that their sentence is not nearly enough to cover all the suffering their own children go through. From ending up as orphans, to years of PTSD and physical injuries, these children deserve better.

Helped me gain a better understanding of whats more common, verbal or physical abuse? reading through this website i learned that verbal abuse is more common because the domestic abusers usually start off by verbally abusing their child then eventually get into physically abusing them.
