For my part I'm looking at displaying both visual art paintings - I have a book from the Australian War Memorial that looks at art in war action - as well as old photographs, My husband has found some facebook pages that have some old photos from WW1 and WW2 that have been recoloured. I was also thinking that with the webpage, I can incorporate a virtual gallery (that Im learning about in another class)

KC - couldn't have put it better myself!

Leisha-I agree, a Community is a group of people with a common interest coming together.

JC - Similar to Diana, communities are often broken down into smaller groups, with some groups having a louder voice, stronger vote over other groups within the community. Silencing the minority groups by not having them represented.

KC - further to this is assumed knowledge or conceptions about ideas being presented. This can both silence and privilege communities into smaller subsects

Leisha-I agree with everyone here and I do believe that If a community is a group there is always a group leader, and the leader has the loudest voice. Others may be silenced by not being able to have there "voice" heard.

Dianna - it is reminder that we are one community, looking out for each other.

JC - I think you girls have summed that up nicely. I think it also brings out that although we are smaller communities in different towns and cities, that we are also a community in Australia as a whole.

Leisha-Brilliantly summed up, I have nothing more to add.

Dianna- the Australian Defence Force site has a community events page that includes family days. This project is an example of community becoming involved.

JC - I think that this will have a positive impact on the community and bring the community together, with the sharing of stories, photos, experiences. It will also allow each community to link together with each other, through the online community engagement.

Leisha-I think the impact would be to create more awareness in our involvement in conflict past, present, and future. I believe this would have a positive impact on the community, on our country and for the defence forces.

JC - Everyone's tasks are individualised by that person, although agreed upon by everyone, because of this we are utilising everyone's skills to the best of their ability, we are not trying to get people to use skills they don't have or won't necessarily use in their discipline. Everyones contribution is valuable because they are all so different.

Dianna - We each have a speciality, but are all still learning. The bouncing off of ideas and the strength in communication between each team member has helped to bring this to fruition

Leisha-We are all making a equal contribution to the project, using our own skills that are our own strengths to work on our allocated areas of the projects. One of the largest skills we are using in this project is our communication skills, not just with each other but to deliver this project to the community. Each and every person has been a valuable team member for creating the vision that we have today for our project.

Dianna - Face to face has been the biggest challenge. The lack of it that is. I think trying to find modern day sources

JC - I agree, the Face to Face has been difficult, but I think we have overcome it quite well by utilising this padlet like we have. I guess losing some members of our group along the way has been a bit of a challenge, meaning we have less disciplines to work with but with so many extra ideas. We have overcome this by scaling down some aspects of the project, like the internet side of things.

Leisha-I think the loss of a few team members, and trying to research and plan for a project that will never become anything more than a project. We have overcome the loss of team members by excluding certain aspects of our project and overcome the research difficulties by really trying to envision our project through weekly meetings, imagery, videos and more. We are making this is real as we can by communicating with each other our own vision for the project.

Dianna- Yes. This is a get in your head one.

JC - I wasn't sure whether to put this one in or not. I guess it has pretty much been a big learning curve working in a group this way.

Leisha-Working in a inter-displinary group has been a great experience, learning to work with others who may not share your interests but share the common goal has been both challenging and interesting. I have learned a lot about communication, and I think we have been lucky, as we all share similar interests, this may have been a very different project had I been sharing it with engineering and mathematics students :)
