Groups of women, children, and elderly men are shot at close range. Significance is the My Lai massacre was one of the most horrific incidents of violence committed against unarmed civilians during the Vietnam War.<strong> November 15, 1969- </strong>Millions of people across the United States protest the continued U.S. involvement in Vietnam. Significance is the antiwar demonstrations that represent the largest public protests in U.S. history. <strong>May 4, 1970-</strong> Members of the Ohio National Guard open fire on unarmed at Kent state University, killing four and wounding nine college students. Significance is the incident that catalyzes the growing anti war movement. <strong>March 29, 1973- </strong>The last U.S. military unit leaves Vietnam. <strong>April 29, 1975- </strong>Over the next 24 hours, some 7,000 Americans and South Vietnamese are flown to safety.<strong><br></strong><br></div><div><br></div><div><strong><br></strong><br></div><div><br></div><div><strong><br></strong><br></div>]]></description>
