I didn’t take photos for thanksgiving or videos because I forgot to because I was having too much fun. My family came over to my house to eat thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. We don’t celebrate thanksgiving just on that day most of the time because there are multiple parties and celebrations that happen on and after and sometimes before thanksgiving. On thanksgiving there we ate turkey, arroz con gandules, cerviche, lasagne, potato salad, stuffing, casserole, apple pie, pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie, ice cream, turkey soup and many more food items.

This Winter Break I went to Washington D.C. I saw the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, and the Korean War Memorial. I went to Maine this winter to see my grandparents. I also spent a few hours racing to complete a mission, so I can get a special gear; I am now the 60th person in the world to complete the task. I have books and gift cards, as well as a 2,000 dollar check. Overall, this winter break sucks more than anyone else: Ha ha ha JK.

I stayed in New York during the winter break. I celebrated Christmas Eve at my Grandmother’s sister’s house. She cooked for the whole family. She made pernil (pork shoulder), arroz con gandules y jamon (rice and beans with ham in it), pasteles de yuca y regular (pasteles made of yuca with a meat filling and regular pasteles with a meat filling), coquito (coconut egg nog), salad and flan (custard cake.) In my family we don’t just celebrate Christmas on the 25th, celebrations usually begin either the 23rd or 24th. This year it started on the 24th. Last year I started celebrating on the 23rd by going to

my aunts family house.

The 24th my mother and I set up the presents under the tree, while my little sister was sleeping. My mom answered the letter my sister sent to Santa and ate the cookies and drank the milk my sister left.

Christmas morning my sister woke up so exited to open her presents. I bought my sister a light up truck that makes noises, a toy dog that runs and barks, Trolls make up set and coloring book and accessories from Shopkins. We celebrated Christmas by opening presents, playing music, dancing, going out, cooking and eating.

My birthday is the 26th of December (the day after Christmas and Boxing Day.) I celebrated my birthday by opening presents, getting dressed to go hangout in the night, and eating delicious food my mom made for me. My family came over to celebrate with me, then I hanged out with my friends and brother during the night time. I saw the movie Jumanji. I turned 16 years old.

On New Years I went to my mom’s friends house. The whole floor was dedicated to her New Year’s party. There was delicious food, balloons, TV, music, and so much more. The party was amazing.

My family from Puerto Rico celebrates Three Kings Day. Three Kings Day is January 6th. In Puerto Rico they have a huge celebration. They have people dress up as the three kings and ride horses. People from the community come together and pitch in to cook, make snacks, give candies to the kids, give presents to the kids, have games and other items for the kids to play with. Everyone plays music really loud. In the picture of the Christmas tree you can see there are three king ornaments on the tree. The ornaments are from Puerto Rico that my aunt brought back.
