For me spirituality is my realization that I need to better my mind body health and connection with the world around me for my own benefit and not for the benefit of others and that there is something or someone in my life who has and always will have a higher power. Spirituality is my ability to be less anger filled and more calm and reserved. In spirituality I will find the ability to see the best in others and to not judge before knowing someone. I feel I can keep a strong spiritual connection by going and being in nature , listening to music , and just appreciating the life I have

The song I have chosen is Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd. I really could have chosen the whole album but I had to do one song so I chose this one and my reason being is that the song talks about the loss of Syd Barrett’s mind and spirituality and how he lost his connections with those around him. It also talks about how the other band members miss there former friend and I can connect to that because I feel a big part of my spirituality is knowing that even though some of my loved ones have passed they are in a better place which lets me have a better peace of mind and be able to live more spiritually.

This song has also been there in times that I felt I had lost spiritual connection and was at my worst and felt trapped and lost and it has helped me back to a better place. Which leads me to my lyrical connection where the song says “ We’re just two lost souls swimming in a fishbowl year after year” and I make that connection because I felt like a lost soul in a fishbowl or trapped and I think that’s what the song meant by fishbowl is that they felt trapped. This is the photo I chose and I chose it because this was one of the most spiritual moments of my life and even though it’s not a piece of artwork when I was told a spiritual picture my mind immediately thought of this photo. Me and my Father were camping just outside of a little town named Elora and i decided to go for a walk in the early morning and ended up finding a staircase that led to the river so I walked Down and I just sat there for a while on a rock I’m the middle of the river and coincidentally while on that rock was listening to my spirituality song listed previously which was Wish you were here by Pink Floyd and I had just felt so connected and so at peace during that moment.

Spiritual Practice

A spiritual practice I constantly engage in is connecting with nature. For me, it's one of my favorite ways to relieve stress and feel calm and spiritual. It is also important because I hate being stuck in the house all day I love getting out and doing stuff outdoors whether it's walking biking fishing it's just always a way to have something to do

The Prayer I have chosen is Psalm 138:1 which says I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart; before the "gods," I will sing your praise. I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word. And I chose this prayer because it reflects how spirituality is realizing there is someone or something bigger than myself because reciting this prayer means I am praising a higher power

the scripture i have chosen is Isaiah 41 : 10 which says " So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. " i like this verse because it always reminds me that if I feel alone I will always have someone and if i feel weak God will give me strength and i have loved this verse for a while now it was even written on my backplate during football season
