Winston has shown rebellious acts since the beginning of the story. It started with just thoughts, moving to when he did'n't participate on the two minutes of hate. He then rebels by buying a diary and written on it. This keeps going on until he visits the proles and goes to the store again, buying something just for its beauty. It was foreseeable that sooner or later he would commit a bigger act of rebellion, andit finally happened when he met with Julia. I think he realized that this little acts give him a kind of power, and he will continue to rebell until he makes a grand act of rebellion and finally take on Big Brother.

As we know, Winston knows that the government is lying and controlling them, so he has shown some acts that go against the government rules. For example, at the beginning of the story, he committed "thoughtcrime". He also bought a diary, which he kept in secret, and wrote on it. Another act of rebellion is when he went to visit the proles. A big act of rebellion is the one he committed with Julia. I think that all these acts were foreseeable, and that Winston did all of this in order to demonstrate that he does not agree with what the government is doing. I think that with the time, Winston will find more ways to rebel.

Every wall starts with a single brick: Winston´s acts of progressive rebellion were foreseeable from the exact moment he questioned why he had to do the silly exercises the telescreen was showing: the same moment he started feeding rebellious thoughts. That single spark initiated a fire in him, one that can´t be stopped. Every small thought against the government ways of forming families, denying to have a diary or personal philosophy opened the door for a whole new world without Ingsoc rules and standards, a new world Winston wants to share.
There is no more to say I am glad Winston found someone to share his dreams with.

Do you think his acts of progressive rebellion against Big Brother were foreseeable? Why or Why not? Give Examples
Since the beginning of the book we know that Winston is not happy with the government , and all the little things that he does. Does actions lead us to know that he will someday rebel against the government . I completely agree that all this actions as foreseeable. There are many examples of Winston rebelling like for example: visiting the proles, buying a diary, not participating in the 2 minute hate , questioning about his job and much more.

This is a start of Winston's rebelion because everything has to start from a small beginning , we could have know that winston was about to rebel since the moment he started questioning his job, why he had to do all of those bad things. He has been doing small things that will eventually end up in a rebellion like, buying a diary, visiting the proles, not participating in the 2 minutes of hate and many thinks like that. I would strongly agree all of these action were foreseeable.

This is the little start of something really big. We are watching how Winston starts to experience acts of rebellion and he enjoys them. Since the beggining of the story we have watched this acts. We saw how Winston did not participate in the the two minutes of hate, when he bought the diary to write on it, when he bought something from the store just becuse he liked it, and when he went to visit the proles just because he was curious about them. It is forseeable that later we will see a final big act of rebellion that relates with Winston's meeting with Julia. Just meeting with Julia was a big act of rebellion, and if they really love each other that is a crime that can get them killed.

In this case Winston have tried with different stuff in order to take BB out of the power, but know he might have some help and make a big rebellion against the government. Yes because the thought bring actions and the actions are reflected n real life. Since the beginning Winston start thinking about stuff and that is his life style. His acts of rebellious are foreseeable because he have try different actions alone that didn't work and now that he have some support he may make a big act of rebellious.

Along the story Winston's actions are different. And we see that he is enjoying this, he now goes against the current. He is a different person than what the governments wants him to be. This is foreseeable, because since he did all of this actions he will eventually do something big in a near future. In the past, he did not participate of many things, he only watched things and stay in silent, he did not even participate in the 2 minutes of hate. But now, that he has Julia, he started to rebel. I think that he feels comfortable. Starting from the love of them, they are rebelling. Meeting its an act of rebellion. I still think that Wiston does not love her, because he did not know her. How could you love someone that you don't know? That's only my point of view, because with the acts of rebellion I am not sure any more.

Of course! Winston has been, since the beginning, doubtful and curious about his government. Winston starts by doubting Big Brother and questioning all of their actions. He writes his thoughts and talks to the proles to gather information against BB. Now, he feels motivated and with more strength to rebel because he is not alone. He and Julia are rebelling and they both feel great about it and they will keep doing this until they get to Big Brother.

I think his actions against Big Brother were definitely foreseeable. Throughout the book, Winston has constantly mentioned rebelling against the government and fighting back. The government has managed to convince society that sexual acts are disgusting and wrong and should only happen to procreate children. So, having sexual intentions with someone without that purpose, is extremely rebellious and could put them both in serious trouble. In addition, they have been talking about meeting in private and both have said that they are willing to rebel. I think he is ready to rebel just to be with Julia who may truly feel the same way as he does.

Yes! Winston's actions against Big Brother were foreseeable. Foreshadowing has been a big part of the book since we started it. From Winston committing "Thoughtcrime", trying to control his expression to not commit 'Facecrime', to buying a journal and writing how much he despises the government. Those have been just little clues. Now, by having sex with Julia is another rebellion he is making against the government. Even though the government is not aware of it now, it is just a matter of time until every crime Winston has committed to come to light. I think Winston is afraid to completely rebel against the government, so now he is doing it behind their backs so he will gain confidence. This 'hiding in the shadows and having sex with Julia' thing will be over soon and they will be discovered.

In chapter the complete action that Winston has develop in this chapter he feels forced on the actions that he is developing are against big brother he has been forced by taking this decisions. Winston has always felt on making rebellion against the government and he has also felt the impulse of fighting back against the government. The government has actually find a way of telling society of this country that sexual acts are wrong that sex can only be make with the intention of having children. Winston feels afraid of revealing against the government but he is doing illegal acts behind people's back but sooner or later the government will figure it out and they will get in serious problems.
