In The world today and dealing with Covid 19 I think I would have to change my mind about the five second rule.
Several studies have been done to determine if this is true and food left on a surface, for a longer period of time does collect more bacteria, and food left on other floor surfaces dirtier it becomes. According to the article Schaffner stated that moisture drives the transfer of bacteria from surface of food, the wetter the food, the higher the risk of transfer. Any food that comes will pick up some type of bacteria and there is no way of knowing what type of bacteria.

I'm changing my mind about the five second rule because there are a lot of germs out there. I also don't think I would abide by it because according to the article the five second rule isn't real and I don't want to get sick from picking something off the ground. The last reason I wouldn't abide by it because according to the article bacteria can spread no matter how fast you pick it up.

I will not abide by the five second rule because germs can spread now matter how fast you pick it up because germs can spread instantaneously. I also will not abide by the five second rule because if you eat something with a lot of germs and bacteria you can get sick and you can get disease or something worse.
