Copernican Revolution- This shift marked the start of a broader scientific revolution that set the foundations of modern science and allowed science to flourish as an autonomous discipline within its own right.

2. Darwinian Revolution- Darwin's greatest contribution to science is that he completed the Copernican Revolution by drawing out for biology the notion of nature as a system of matter in motion governed by natural laws. They jointly ushered in the beginning of science in the modern sense of the word: explanation through natural laws.

3. Freudian Revolution- Sigmund Freud made possible the collection of reliable data about man's inner life.

1.Copernican
-Major flaws in the work include his concept of the sun as the center of the whole universe, not just the solar system, and his failure to grasp the reality of elliptical orbits, which forced him to incorporate numerous epicycles into his system, as did Ptolemy.

2.Freudian
-The failure to recognize plasticity in human behavior and ability to change; Faulty and inadequate research methods; Too much theorizing on the basis of too little actual data; Belief that the model could be applied to all people in all.

3.Darwinian
-Darwin rarely engaged with critics publically. Letters exchanged with Adam Sedgwick, professor of geology at Cambridge, and Richard Owen, the eminent comparative anatomist, show how Darwin tried to manage strong disagreement in the more private realm of correspondence. In the case of Sedgwick, Darwin was able to remain on friendly and respectful terms with his former professor. In the case of Owen, however, though their theoretical differences were less severe, the relationship quickly deteriorated and Darwin came to regard him as a bitter enemy.
