I really enjoyed your LD. May be you devoted too much time to practice, but computation thinking is right suitable for a a project task based learning and competitio is a great strategy. So well done ! Parents and students engaged in a task involving a shared goal is real collaboration and best of all "learn to learn" . Thinking about the shared experience gives both of them a real feedback for self evaluation.

I`m here to learn more how to engage parents in the students learning process.
Has a teacher i want to improve my knowledge.

Usually we participate in Fisrt Lego League event in Portugal.
I would like to design an activity to involve the parents in the preparation of the task of our teams.
Another possibility is design an action plan to increase parents participation and communication in the Moodle platform.

Some times is difficult  to communicate with parents.
They think that because they are of a lower social extract, they are not preferred and their children are put aside.

I have had cases where there are parents who help spread the information to others. Any information that was necessary to disclose was enough to send to these father and they sent to the rest.

In my school parents came to class to talk about their work and sometimes they bring professionals to talk about the skills we need to do the kind of work.

In primary school parents design activities to do in class.(All the activities are about their work in real life)

There are regions were the parents participation is too low.

A parents wanted to sign a paper to aloud me to became a his son tutor because he didn´t have time to work with him.(He didn´t want to!!!!)

Is urgent to engage parents in students learning. The students need parents support and help.

In Portugal we don´t visit students.
