• The most common cause of animal abuse is often neglect

• Many cases do not arise from deliberate cruelty but from a lack of awareness about the proper care that animals require

  
  

What are your practices regarding confinement, and what space allowances are provided for your animals?

• Can house over 200 animals in shelter until they are ready for adaption

• Different animals have different space allowances. e.g, dogs will be housed in individual kennels

• An enclosed space is never good for animals but the space allowances they are given are suited to their respective needs

What different therapies do you deliver to help animals rehabilitate from abuse?

• Look at animal’s personality, behavior, idiosyncrasies

• I.e whether they are motivated by treats

• After asessment, there will be an interaction session

• Information regarding trauma are through reports or animals responses (e.g. curling away from people)

• After what interests the animals have, they are sent to their respective new homes specified to their needs

• The animal's trauma response is analysed and is thus reduced through rehabilitation to alleviate animals trauma

• Animals are placed in different sections (e.g. rehabilitation or quarantine)

• Treats are used to motivate animals to corporate, allowing them to develop

How do you promote your cause?

• Outreach programs dedicated to volunteers that one to help

• CNA and other news broadcaster interviews

• Shelter tours to the public

• Advocating for SPCA

• SPCA volunteers in public areas to educate pet owners and spot for animal abuse

What made you start this cause?

• Established in 1876

• Started so that animals suffering from abuse, neglect and trauma have a safe space for rehabilitation and therapy so that they can recuperate

• To prevent cruelty towards animals

• Promote kindness towards animals

• Inconsistent Legal Protections: While all U.S. states have laws criminalizing animal cruelty, the strength and scope of these laws vary significantly, leading to inconsistent protections.

2. Profit-Driven Industries

• Pharmaceutical Interests: The pharmaceutical industry benefits from factory farming due to the high demand for antibiotics and vaccines necessary to maintain animal health in intensive farming conditions. This economic interest can impede the transition to more humane farming practices.

3. Lack of Awareness and Education

• Improper Feeding & Nutrition: Owners may unknowingly provide inadequate or harmful diets, leading to malnutrition or obesity-related health issues.

• Inadequate Shelter & Living Conditions: Lack of knowledge about proper housing can result in animals being kept in unsafe, cramped, or unsanitary environments.
