Video surveillance is something that our world will never be without again.  We can't go back.  

The book 1984, by George Orwell, is a representation of where we could be headed at the rate we are going with today's unstoppable technology. Today we live in a dark world full of nightmare situations. Our lack of privacy and ultimate control mirrors that in 1984, but the severity of the consequences is thankfully non existent at this time, at least in the United States.

The word "privacy" has become a joke in today's world.  The internet, technology of today, and social media have become in and of itself, its own version of 1984.

America's government is in a constant state of surveillance. From tapping phone calls to watching people through the various sources of video surveillance, privacy is diminishing. 

Much like in 1984, nothing in our lives today, no matter how much we try to protect our personal information, is still open game to our government. Individuals do not actually have any true "privacy." Therefore those in power have ultimate control.
