Topic Statement: Sexualizing Subcultures stemming from the over-saturation of fanservice in modern Anime and Manga and its effects in their consumer's psychology.

Simply put, fanservice refers to material in a work of fiction or in a fictional series which is intentionally added to please the audience, usually carrying a sexual undertone.

Fanservice include but not limited to suggestive situations, hidden innuendos and even blatant erotic scenes strategically covered up to escape censorship.

Problem Statement.

1) LOLI/ SHOTA SUBCULTURE: Subculture that sexualizes characters that are young children or depicted to look like young children.

In modern Anime and Manga, fanservice has evolved from being a special treat for niche viewers into a necessity in order to keep viewers from watching, especially for a new upcoming anime. This is now a huge problem when there are animes that feature characters depicted as young children are also roped into this unwritten, unspoken, unchallenged rule. This caused the birth of the Loli/Shota and unsurprisingly, cases of Pedophilia.

2) FUJOSHI/FUDANSHI SUBCULTURE: People that are overly interested and attached to Homosexual relationships in anime and manga

The main issue rooted deep into this subculture is the sexualization of homosexual relationships, which degrades real homosexual relationships to eye-candy purely for the entertainment of a niche group. In this case, Fujoshis and Fudanshis who view homosexual relationships through rose tinted glasses instead of seeing them as two very real people facing very real social issues depending from where they are from.

3) WAIFU SUBCULTURE: Males that have heavy delusions about a female character in a manga or anime.

Children and homosexual relationships are not the only things being sexualized, a large group of male fans also heavily tend to fetish 2-D characters in itself. Their view about women are warped into seeing them based on illogical tropes rather than seeing them as a complex being with a personality. This will cause obsessive tendencies and also even lead to a disinterest in real women.

For some reasons, it has been a trend for people to make shame of those who actually enjoy wearing make up for the sake of expressing themselves. People who wear make up are often judged to be:

1. Insecure of their own beauty and the use of make up is always said as a tool to cover up their flaws instead make up is actually a tool of strength.
2. Meant to impress men
3. Expensive
