         <description><![CDATA[<div>Assalamualikum  and hi everyone. This is my new journey on my degree of microbiology as it is a new semester and its already my second year. I'm quite shock actually how time flies so fast as I still can remember my first year. On the first year I still to adapt on the situation as a microbiology student. But as  I enter my second year, it makes me realize that I cannot day dreaming anymore, I have to wake up. Being in second year makes me quite excited explore more. Can't wait  to see my progress in this new semester.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hello. This week is a just quite relaxing week because we just enter the class and lecturer give the overall overview on each subject. This sem there is no microbiology course like microbiology 1 and 2 last semester anymore, we learn more specific on the microbiology such as this sem we have to take microbial physiology and bacteriology. Basically bacteriology is just same like microbiology on the first semester but this time it is more deeper and we have to refresh back what we have learnt on microbiology sem 1 and 2. On this week, we have done experiment on NDV (Newcastle disease virus) in the microbiology lab 3 which is quite interesting which involve chicken eggs and we have to harvest the virus in the allantoic fluid of the chicken eggs and learn how to detect  and calculate the presence of virus. On this week we just learnt how to candling and propagate the NDV.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>THIRD WEEK</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hi. This week in bacteriology class I have learnt about bacterial systematic. This topic explain about how to classified bacteria based on their taxonomy  by using classical approach, numerical approach and also by using molecular approach.<br>In microbial physiology class, I learnt how to classified and differences between eukaryotes, archea and bacteria which I have learn in sem 1 and 2. This introduction is like to revise back our knowledge.<br>In the microbiology lab, we continued the NDV experiment which this week I learnt how to harvest viruses and purified the solution. I also learnt how to calculate the HA and HI assay based on the formation of haemagglunation of the blood and formation of red button. This experiment took 2 week to finish the whole experiment. This picture show the  and also the formation of red button. A viral haemagglutination is which the viruses contain protein which bind to the erythrocytes (red blood cell) causing them to clump together. A negative result shows the formation of red button that indicate the absence of viral particles while for positive result, it shows the presence of viral particles which shows no button are form. </div><div> </div>]]></description>

         <title>FOURTH WEEK</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Assalamualaikum and hi everyone. Its already fourth week of  this sem, how time flies so fast. This week on bacteriology class,  I learnt about archaea  which is more specific and it is like a revision about this topic. In this topic it just focus on archaea which is their morphology, habitat, the differences between gram positive and gram negative of archaea and bacteria(differences between archaea and bacteria), their genetic contain and metabolism. I also learnt the phylum under archaea which is Crenarchaeota , Euryaechaeota  and their genus and groups under each phylums.<br>For microbial physiology class, I learnt about the cell wall and membrane structure of prokaryotes. This topic focus on the structure of the cell which is mostly about their function.<br>This week, we have done experiment about Microbat or API microbat identification kit. By using this experiment we can determine what type of bacteria by using computer- aided identification which show the percentage of the probability of our bacteria compared to other type of bacteria. Before we can identify by using computer we have to do a microbat test which consist of many types of test in one microbat kit such as oxidase test,  sucrose test and many other tests by observe the color changing</div>]]></description>

         <title>FIFTH WEEK OF THIS SEMESTER</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hello everyone. This week is a busy week which we have test before going back home for midsem. In this  week, during microbial physiology class I learnt about protein and enzymes in prokaryotes. This topic focus on the basic of enzymology and also the basic structure of the enzyme.<br>In bacteriology class, I learnt about chemolithotrophic bacteria and methylotroph which is their carbon source use and types of bacteria.<br>For this week experiment, we continued the microbat experiment and obtain the result by using computer to determine the type of bacteria which shows the percentage of their probability. From the results of this experiment my bacteria is <em>Moraxella</em> <em>sp</em>. which give 80% probability compared to other bacterias. <br>Also on this week we had our first test and have a mid sem break for 1 weeks.</div>]]></description>

         <title>WEEK SIX OF THIS SEMESTER</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>For this week after 1 week break we started our class normally. In the bacteriology class, the lecture continue on a new topic which is gram negative  and anaerobic bacteria. In this topic I learnt about their morphology and characteristic the classes of bacteria such as sulfate reducer bacteria and bacteroidaceae.<br>For microbial physiology class, I learnt about bioenergetic and metabolite transport which focus on the function of ATP, metabolism, how ATP produce, electron carrier and briefly about electron transport chain. On this topic we have to make a presentation using any apps to shows the ETC (electron transport chain). Dr.Su also make a lot of activities to make student more understand, she show youtube about glycolysis song and many more.<br>For this week, we do experiment of ELISA (using direct ELISA) and also ABO and result interpretation. For ELISA experiment we use rabbit antigen and for ABO we use our blood to test the blood types. ELISA test is  used to detect the interaction between antigens and antibodies. In practical terms, serology is the diagnostic identification of antibodies in the serum. The other purpose of this experiment is to provide students with experience in a variety of immunological techniques. Through this experiment, it use Direct ELISA test because the detection is much faster than other ELISA techniques as fewer steps are required. The assay is also less prone to error since fewer reagents and steps are needed. So at the end of this experiments, student should be able to describe the immunological reaction, their role in the diagnosis of disease and explain the factors that affect the antigen antibody reactions. The purpose of doing ABO blood typing experiment is to check how antigens and antibodies interact and to know the type of blood. On this week we had our lab test regarding the previous experiment.<br><br>This picture show the agglutination of red blood cell at anti-B and anti-D which show B+ blood type.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This week in bacteriology class, I learnt about gram negative and aerobic bacteria which include their morphology and characteristic and the  type of bacteria such as acetic acid bacteria, nitrogen fixing bactera, stalked bacteria, curved bacteria, bacteria that are pathogenic and many more. For microbial physiology class, I learnt about  energy production and metabolite transport and also about central pathway of carbohydrate metabolism which involve glycolysis, TCA cycle, EMP pathway and Ed\D pathways.<br>For this week lab microbe, we do experiment on how to prepare media and solution. Through this week experiment, I learnt how to make PDA and minimal media with different carbon sources because before this the agar already prepared by  lac assistant. So now, I know how to make the PDA agar for isolation of fungi and put antibiotic inti the agar solution to inhibit the growth of bacteria. This week also we have to isolate fungi  from sample solution that we take from our surrouding. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hello everyone. I learnt about gram positive bacteria through bacteriology class. For this topic, I learnt about their characteristics and types of bacteria for each group. The group are divided into 2 which is bacteria which have low GC content (non-sporulaitng, endospore-forming and bacteria lacking cell wall) and one with higher GC content (coryneform, propionic acid bacteria and filamentous bacteria).<br>For microbial physiology class, we do some revision on the topic for test 2.<br>Microbes lab for this week, we have to isolated the fungi into PDA and sodium acetate minimal medium to obtain pure culture of fungi. This isolation of fungi, we have to isolated it for 2 times to make sure we had a pure culture that are not mixed with other fungi.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hello everyone. This week is week that full with test. For this week I had  test 2 on biomoles and bacteriology.  In bacteriology class, I have learnt about gliding bacteria. Gliding bacteria  is  bacteria with no flagella but it can move when in contact with surfaces. It can be Gram‐negative, purple bacteria, some are Bacteroides‐Flavobacterium and  Myxobacteria can form multicellular structures called fruiting bodies. For microbial Physiology we still do some revision for test 2 in week 10. For microbes lab III, we still do the isolation of the fungi on the PDA medium and minimal medium to obtain pure culture of the fungi isolated. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hi. On this week, still full will tests. This week we had microbial physiology test and test for other subjects. In bacterio class, I have learnt about new topics which is photosynthetic bacteria and in microbial physiology, I learnt about photosynthesis and lipid metabolism. Both of the subject have a close connection between each other, so I have to understand both of them. For microbiology lab III, this week we had to observe and identified the fungi growth on the PDA medium and minimal medium that contain sodium acetate. PDA medium is used for the identification of the morphological structure of the fungi under the microscope while minimal medium that contain sodium acetate is use to observe the rate uf the fungi growth on the plate based on their diameter which indicate the carbon source use of the fungi. Different fungi has different requirement of the carbon sources. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hi. All test had been done through week 9 and 10, so this week is like a normal week which is a lot of assignment. For this week in Bacteriology class, me and my group had presentation about the application of food microbiology and for this topic each of us have to do a literature review based on the topic given and lecture on photosynthetic bacteria. For microbial physiology, we continue the lecture on lipid metabolism which is the biosynthesis of fatty acids, phospholipid and isoprenoids. For this topic we had to remember the pathway of every biosynthesis.  And for microbe lab III, we had a new experiment with Prof.Tan which is experiment on the extraction of bacteria genomic DNA and extraction of plasmid DNA from<em> E.coli. </em></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hi. This week is the last week of lab microbiology 3. For this week lab, I have learnt how to make agarose gel and undergo the gel electrophoresis. It is quite challenging because I have not learnt about it before this and this is the first time to explore more about the DNA and also the plasmid. Since this is the last lab, we take some picture together with the lab assistant. I feel sad because for the next sem we did not have lab of microbiology. For this week, we had 3MT about the physiology in our life. This is the second time of doing 3MT, so it is much more better from the first one.<br>Lastly, I want to thanks to the lab assistant and the demo for teaching me in the lab.          <description><![CDATA[<div>This week is a short week because monday is a public holiday. Most of the students going back to their home. On physilogy, we continued the 3MT. From this week 3MT, I can see many people had some improvement in their presentation which is some make storytelling and many more. I hope I can be confidence and brave infront of other people. For bacteriology class, I learnt about mycoplasma and actinomycetes. It is interesting and it is like refresh back what I have learnt during the first year. That all from me for this week.
