Novel or movie?

Once again I decide to watch a movie after reading the book. This time it's about "The Girl on the Train" by Paula Hawkins. A book that kept me stuck to it until I finished it, due to its intrigue.

Although reading a book is always for me more passionate because you can imagine the characters and you can go further, I think that the film was very well thought out. One of the differences between the book and the film is the place where it is shot, in this case in NY when in the book the trips of the protagonist are in London.

Despite the differences, I enjoyed watching the movie, as it is based well on the novel. To all those who like intrigue novels, I recommend watching the movie, but not before reading the novel!

Christmas markets in Basel

The atmosphere of the streets of Basel at Christmas is charming. A small village located between the French and Swiss borders, a small town like those that come out in the movies.
To disconnect a few days with friends it could be an ideal place and also if you like the Christmas atmosphere, you can enjoy their wonderful Christmas markets where you can find all kinds of Christmas ornaments and gifts. You can also try their famous hot wine, called Glühwein, to combat the cold temperatures.

Besides to spending good time with friends and visiting Basel and Zürich, I was able to practice the language. The majority of citizens speak Swiss or German, but at restaurants the usual language is English. It is very rewarding when you feel that you can have a conversation with anyone and how your mind adapts to absorb all the words of the conversation!

The girl on the train...

During the journey from Basel to Zürich I felt as the girl on the train. An hour's journey where I could observe a wonderful landscape, small snowy mountains, icy fields and small charming little houses.   In addition to the views, I want to highlight the good public transport service of the city. Economical prices, comfortable trains, clean and punctual! Could we have them as an example?

Whatever makes you happy!

How a mother have this kind of power that nobody has?
When a read the title I thought it was something related to our personal growth. It was, but so much different that I had been thought.
I would never have believed that the story of a trio of mothers, who have been friends since their sons were in grade school together, could make me think so much.
Through amusing stories I have been able to connect with some personal experiences. In my opinion, the most important thing has been to think that in life we should do what really makes us happy!
Matt, Daniel and Paul in their thirties received the impulsively an unannounced visit of their mother, and "only" for a week!!!!

Carnival at school!

Today is carnival and as every year, we have decided go on the street and play with our students. But, unfortunately it is raining!!! So we have to think in other alternatives. This year we dress up as "The little Red Riding Hood", so with the English teachers we decided to play the story of "The little Red Riding Hood". We did four plays to different courses. Children were very happy and enjoyed the spontaneous play. Sometimes things without thinking about them go better!

BBC 5live Breakfast

I get to used to listening BBC radio 5live Breakfast every morning. While I am having a shower I listen English news radio. At first, it was horrible, because I didn't' understand nothing. They speak so fast and use a strange vocabulary that I have never heard before! It was a bit depressing because I only understand the weather news! But as a persistent person, I didn't resist and I tried and tried. One day I realised I had understood the general idea, so this was something gratifying. Nowadays I continue understanding the main idea... But I hope being able to understand the all news in a near future!

How to become a healthy person...

I'm a bit freaky of a healthy world. So, during my English conversation with one of my friend we have talked a lot on different topics. One of them it was "our healthy world". It was a bit difficult explain my ideas and opinions and also when you have many. But I try to speak, and only speak, I mean I always try to speak without thinking. I realised that when I am thinking on what I want to say, something strange happen to me and I become nervous. Otherwise, when I let myself flow, the result is more positive. During our conversation we start talking about a topic but then we change it and we try to save our world, proposing solutions, ideas and opinions that it could make a better world.

One of this it was about health and we talked about the importance of teaching healthy habits from the schools.

Medieval village of Besalú

During Easter we decided to visit one of the most beautiful medieval village in Catalonia, Besalú.
When we arrived there, something special happened. There were amazing views from the bridge a little village and a amazing castle with the original towers. It seemed as if we were in the past!
We visited the village, but we had heard that there we could visit the Jewish legacy and some interesting buildings. So, we arrived to "Ars didactica" the place tour in Besalú. But, unfortunately to my husband, when we arrived there was only an English tour! I encouraged him and then we visited some interesting places.

-The Jewish quarter or call whose streets are a throwback to the past.
-The Jewish baths or miqvé, where we entered and saw how was the medieval Jewish purification baths.
-The archaeological remains of the synagogue.

Sometimes when you least expect it and in the place where you least expect it, there is the opportunity to do something different, this time an English tour.
