props:

research:

props can be very important for a show, not only do they show stylized ideas but also time period and tone, if props are involved in a production they need to be made very well and be high quality, most props go through many design rounds by consulting the director for feed back. they must also go through vigorous testing to ensure they are stage safe.

relevance:

after finding out id be apart of the props team I immediately looked at the script for ideas. I read the script and looked at some of the props wed need for the show and drew some basic sketches and notes with ideas for materials I could possibly use, the props need to be light weight and durable, they need to be easily replaceable in case they do break and the materials used must be affordable and not to hard to find.

action plan:

have a team meeting after the first rehearsal to organize a schedule to meet (27th Jan)

come up with finalized sketches by the 15th of Feb

I will also need an online copy of the script so I can change the paper its on to pink to help me read it. the props department I am in will also need resources such as: a large space to make the props, materials, craft supplies, a small budget and the directors input

action plan:

I will use full advantage of the recourses I have as I will attempt to use our rehearsal space for a private rehearsal for 2 hours a week to go over and alter anything I may have been noted on in rehearsals or anything I am not completely happy with.
