For my artwork, I decided to focus on the elements : lines, colors, and pattern. Colors and patterns have always captivated me. This curiosity compelled me to deal with these two aspects, as well as lines.
William Morris's artworks inspired me. William Morris was a painter who mostly used patterns in his work. He displayed manufacturing, which was quite appealing.
When I look at my piece of art, it gives me a traditional vibe. The richness and simplicity of the artwork are what make it beautiful. It's almost like a wallpaper design.
I constructed a grid and filled it with random horizontal, vertical, and diagonal lines to experiment with lines. Brown is the dominant color in the grid, representing wood or log.I also used lines to design the
tree.
The flowers were colored with color pencils, and the different shades (dark and light tones) reflect the different sides there may be to a person or anything in general. However, that is its beauty. Color pencils are used once again to color the leaves of a tree. The leaves are colorful to convey my idea that life may be cheerful and colorful if you want it to be.
Nature, in general, soothes a person's enemy, i.e. his or her chaotic thoughts.
In this piece, I combined a variety of materials. I used color pens to paint the flowers, wood, and leaves. I did the tree with a sketch pen and the lines with a ball point pen. These various mediums reflect various individuals and how lovely they would seem if they worked together as a team.

ELEMENTS EXPLORED: Line, Color, Pattern

OUTCOME EXPLANATION: This outcome shows the chaos in the background which signifies the chaos “behind the scenes” of my life and the reason that it is in the ‘background’ is because people don’t normally see what is behind the scene but they see what’s on the outside(which is the pictures on me) The pictures of me show what people see on the outside which is just the typical me without the chaos portrayed. The reason that some of them are just the blue silhouette is because the pictures of me that are in normal color shows the kind of happy me because that was me before COVID when there was no lockdown and when life was more joyful and not boring. And the reason they are blue silhouettes is because it shows that during COVID, it makes me feel empty and sometimes lost because being in a lockdown, impacted my life quite a lot.

INSPIRATION: The overall inspiration came from Keith Haring where he puts figures of people in animation doing different actions. I adapted mine to be pictures of me in different postures to achieve variety. The idea of the blue silhouette also came from Keith Haring because the animated figures of people are mostly filled in with color as well. But the color of the silhouettes(pastel blue) were inspired by Georgia O’Keefe because she normally uses muted tones in her paintings. Ten inspiration from the background came from Kehind Wiley. This is because Wiley does most of his paintings with his subject in the front and a patterned background. But I adapted my background to be more colorful and not too conjusted
