This weekend Houston police arrested a woman after she tried to burn her kids alive at a car wash. The woman, who is not yet named, took her three young children to a local car wash where she revved up her car’s engine causing it to catch fire. Officials said that she told her kids that “they were going to see Jesus.” before doing this. Other people who saw this tried to help, but the mother then dragged one of the kids away and tried to drown the child in a swamp. None of the kids were hurt and the mother was arrested and will undergo a mental health evaluation.

Reflection: It's such a miracle that she didn't succeed in killing her children and that they are now safe. It's sad that this kind of thing can happen and I've seen other causes like this in the news a lot. I'm just glad that the police and other by-standers were able to stop it before it was too late.

Police officers in the city of Largo tried to gain access to the cellphone of the late Linus Phillip by pressing his digits against the fingerprint sensor. They failed, but the move outraged his fiancée.

"I just feel so disrespected and violated," the fiancée, Victoria Armstrong, told the 

tampa bay times.Phillip, 30, was shot and killed on March 23 after he tried to flee a Largo police officer who smelled marijuana wafting from his car and was trying to search him, according to the state attorney's office for Pinellas and Pasco Counties. Phillip was unarmed.

His body was released to his loved ones at some point before March 26, when two Largo detectives showed up at the Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home in Clearwater, Florida, with Phillip's phone, said Lt. Randall Chaney of the Largo Police Department.

Chaney told the Tampa Bay Times that police wanted to access and preserve data on the phone to aid in the investigation into Phillip's death and a separate inquiry into a drug case involving Phillip.

"This was witnessed by workers at the funeral home," Phillip's family attorney, John trevena, said on the family's go fund me page

.trevena has filed a complaint against the detectives, who gave Armstrong their business cards while at the funeral home.

Trevena said they are considering suing the City of Largo for unwarranted search and seizure and obtaining illegal access to the body after it left police custody.

Charles Rose, a professor at the Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida, said Phillip's loved ones may not have a legal leg to stand on.

"Warrants are designed to protect citizens against unreasonable searches under the Fourth Amendment," Rose said in an email to NBC News. "Given that the owner of the phone is dead, he no longer has a privacy right to assert under the Fourth Amendment. It's an open question as to whether his family might have that right, but he does not."

Meanwhile, State Attorney Bernie McCabe — in an April 13 letter to the Largo Police Department — concluded that Phillip placed Largo Police Officer Matt Steiner "in imminent fear of his life" and that his death was a "justifiable homicide."

 The Missouri House on Monday endorsed a proposal allowing patients with long-term illnesses to access medical marijuana. In the original bill, Missouri presented only allowing the drug to people with terminal illnesses, but that was soon changed to accommodate people with illnesses such as post-traumatic stress disorder and epilepsy. The bill still needs a final vote to advance past the house so we will be seeing the results soon. 
  Reflection: Honestly, I think this bill was way overdue and am glad that it's finally being introduced in Missouri. I've seen people be in pain because of terminal illnesses so if the state can give them an essentially harmless drug, then it could be a good thing for the "patient". Although we don't know if the bill will be passed yet, I still think it's a good thing that it was at least thought of.

Crowley reportedly apologized on social media Monday morning, saying it was not his intention to offend anyone.The school district told ABC Action News it is working with local and national civic leaders, including the NAACP, to create a forum to discuss the issue of race.

 reflection- well this isn't something that you see everyday for sure. This kid says that he didn't meant to hurt anyone feels or anything but this is a huge upset and a lot of people aren't happy about it. 

Female officers assaulted a young woman that was wearing a long red scarf loosely covering her head. There has been a video roaming around the internet that has shone the extent of the assault. Some women, in Iran, not only question the rule that they must wear the hijab on the street but also their faith in the theocratic Shiite-dominated nation. This incident had cause major outrage within the Shitte-dominated nation.

Reflection: This is so terrible that these officers would do this to this lady. It is in their religion to wear the head scarf. Other people should not judge them or tantalize them over this kind of thing.

Three teenage girls attacked one of their pregnant teachers at school and stole her car. 16 year old Tyana Holmes is being charged as an adult and the judge denied her release from the Baltimore County Detention Center. She had previously been charged with other counts of carjackings and other offenses. Also, a 14 year old relative of Holmes was charged as a juvenile. The teacher was beaten and the teens stole her car keys, her car and her phone.
