Ancient trade routes and empires did facilitate early global connections, laying the groundwork for more extensive globalization later. These early forms of globalization, often referred to as archaic or proto-globalization, involved the exchange of goods, ideas, and cultures across vast distances.

Colonial Globalization

Contextualized within the framework of colonial globalization and the spread of revolutionary and resistance ideology, this image featuring the guillotine execution during the French Revolution captures the colonial struggle. The revolution sought to dismantle absolute monarchy which, in turn, catalyzed colonized nations such as the Philippines to question foreign subjugation and seek equal footing to wage an independence struggle.
