I think I deserve a B for my final grade in English because although I didn't turn in my assignments on time or even at all I have consistently worked really hard throughout the year. This grade reflects my growth in writing and understanding literature. I want people to understand that I have put in a lot of effort to improve my skills and tried my best to stay focused, and I hope to continue learning more.

This is my star student report and although it doesnt look great I know that I tried my best even if it doesnt seem like I do. I struggled with managing my time for many things but mainly for homework and reading. I have many reading skills I have to improve and will work on improving my score.

This shows improvement in both my reading and writing skills. In reading, it shows that I can understand the main topics and themes of the book, like grief and relationships. I also notice important literary like flashbacks and metaphors, which helps me think deeper about the story. When I pick quotes and explain what they mean, it shows I’m learning to find evidence to support my ideas.

In writing, I’m getting better at organizing my thoughts clearly by dividing my ideas into different parts like themes and quotes. I also explain how the author uses language to create feelings, which shows I’m improving in analyzing texts. Overall, this work shows I’m becoming more confident in reading closely and writing about what I read.

Throughout this year i've read about 4 books but only got through two of the books and the other two books I almost finished. The two books I finished were blue moon by alyson noel and We Are Okay by Nina LaCour, but out of the two I really liked reading We Are Okay by Nina LaCour. I really liked this book because it made me feel more than I expected. I liked how the book dealt with silence not just between people, but inside ourselves, when we’re trying to avoid pain. There was many things said and done in this novel that made me relate with it in so many different ways.

I feel like out of most of my work/writing, I did best with my debate speech. I feel like this really showed how clear and organized I can be with my work. I normally do my best with my homework but I always give up and turn in what I have, which usually is okay work but it's never good. I also think this showed how good of a listener and talker i've become because my voice becomes cracky as if I sound like I'm going to cry but while talking I feel like I talked better and same with listening I kept hearing different things from both partners on how they were getting money for their plan so I would call that out.

My poem shows growth because it’s very honest and emotional, which makes it feel real and powerful. I used strong images, like comparing my feelings to a glass about to break, which helps readers understand how intense my emotions are. The way my thoughts flow naturally and show how I'm getting better at expressing complicated feelings instead of just telling what happened. I also reflect on my own experiences and feelings, showing how I'm thinking deeper about myelf. Overall, it’s clear how I'm improving by sharing more personal thoughts and using language.

For these reasons, I think a B is a fair and honest reflection of my work this year. While I faced challenges with turning in some assignments on time, my consistent hard work and dedication to improving my writing and literary understanding show my true growth. I want my people to know that despite setbacks, I remained committed to learning and putting in my best effort. Moving forward, I plan to improve my time management and continue building on the skills I’ve developed, so I can reach even higher in 11th grade.
