When learning about DOK's it was just not clicking with me at first! I understand that Webbs DOK categorize tasks students are expected to engage in . When first looking at DOK's I was confused on how far in advance teacher plan the lesson/DOK and Mrs. Buchanan provided clarification.

When working on the lesson planning building blocks assignment it finally clicked with the help of Mrs. Buchanans comments added to my google doc. I was having the most trouble writing the lesson plan and implementing the right doks. After this lesson I had a way better understanding about how to create a lesson plan and what it entails. When I first wrote the DOK's I wasn't thinking of specific assignment examples. After this assignment I have a clear understanding of how I can plan future lesson implementing the knowledge of DOK's.

UDL

When I first thought about UDL I pictured it being designed for specific students. I quickly realized almost all students learn differently so implementing UDL creates an enviroment to engage ALL students. In one of the class discussions I wrote about how my teacher would use different methods to engage students with different learning styles. This is something I 100% will do in the future.

Implementing UDL

I got a clear understanding implementing UDL when creating the lesson plan and connecting UDL's so all students can engaged and thrive. My AH HA moment was when I thought back to past classrooms and had a way better understanding of the behind the scenes work teachers do to create a great learning environment. Before taking this class I truly had no clue what went into a lesson plan and I thought it was all about the materiel being taught.
