Courage- Without courage, Beowulf wouldn’t have the guts to compete the way he did. If Beowulf did not have the ability to be courageous, he would lack people believing in him.

Perseverance-  As a hero, perseverance is facing trials and tribulations head on, no matter the circumstances. In Beowulf's final battle, he persevered to keep his people out of harm’s way from a fire breathing dragon. Beowulf did not let his old age get in the way of protecting his men.
