So what are medium-sized cities? How do you define a city by the size of its growing population? According to the U.S definition, a medium-sized city has the inhabitants of a total of 20,000 to 200,000 population depending on the city's density. However, the population is a subjective matter, but in most cases this is the most acceptable definition.

A medium sized city is currently a growing trend that is continuing to spread globally. In the current economy of high-end cities such as New York, San Francisco and Seattle has experience rise in property values as they are homes to high-paying jobs. Therefore, workers flock in these locations to take such opportunities.

However, the real estate markets in these cities are jeopardised as new constructions is often unable to keep up with the demand due to the geographic constraints, limited space as well as restrictions set by the local government.

It is the culprit as to why a huge population of younger generations find themselves draw in to medium-sized cities. It may not house the same professional opportunities as their bigger counterparts but it does provide housing affordability. Many cities worldwide are experience a soar over the previous years as they attract younger adults who are looking for cheaper rents and lower asking prices. And we are to expect the trend to continue in 2017 and so on.
