As she talked about how it was fun reading books and eating, I became interested. Coming to book club really changed my perspective of book genres. I would've probably never learned how interesting historical fiction was if I wasn't at book club. I like how we can share our opinions about characters, setting and plot freely. I am so glad that I came to book club, though! We do a lot of fun activities, not just reading and discussing books. For instance, we always do March Book Madness in March. There is a bracket of sixteen books, and there are eight pairs of books. Each round, you vote on each pair, and you get to pick a winner, eventually. Although, your pick doesn't always win, because many schools around the country vote on March Book Madness! It is very fun and exciting. Book Club makes it extra special because we get to make a bulletin board for the brackets, which we update weekly. Another fun activity that we get to do is Poetry Month. We put poems all over the school, and even hand out poems on Poem In Your Pocket Day. Oh, and I almost forgot, we get to talk to authors too! We got to have two video chats with famous authors this year, and we read their books as well. It was a lot of fun, and it was really awesome to meet famous authors, even if it was just over video chat. Book Club is a really great club, and it's not just about books either. We get to do lots of fun spirit months and voting on books, and you always have a ton of fun. My mom decided we should do it since I need to get more daily reading in. We also have awesome treats that Ms. Behnke and kids in Book Club bake/bring. We also do fun activities like reading Newbery choice books, poetry and March BOOK Madness books. These books were awesome and I always have something to read. Thomas Jefferson famously said, "I cannot live without books."
