The first week for school has been eventful and exuberant because I have been so excited to plan upcoming events for the year and meet new students. Everyone is so joyful to be here and I've noticed new students make new friends and look endlessly for their classrooms. I can already tell this is going to be an eventful year!

1. You would not put it in the yearbook becuase it does not go over happy memories of the year. The school newspaper could write an article on this, but putting it in the yearbook would send the wrong message to the students.

2. You would not remove the article, but rather add an updated note on the article stating that they changed their gender.

3. You would not remove the article because it is still an opinion article nonetheless, and people's opinions change as well as other people have different opinions.

4. You would not write about it because it is a personal and confidential issue that does not concern the entire school.

Junior Francesca Sisk has a passion for astronomy. She wants to pursue a career in astrophysics after graduating college.

"My goal is to get into a good college and start my career off right away," said Sisk, a new staff writer for the Pearl Post.

She has many interests including space, astronomy, physics and math, that she plans to study in college. Her dream school is Cal Tech.

Newly hired Superintendent, Alberto Carvalho, (IS VISITING THE CAMPUS TOMORROW) who began working in Los Angeles Unified School District on Aug. 14, is visiting Daniel Pearl Magnet High School tomorrow. (lead of a story)
After March 25th, Natalie Berghoudian will be transferring to Taft High School.
“I began taking karate lessons when I was 10 years old,"Mary said. "I didn’t enjoy it at first but then after five months I began liking it. I began practicing a lot (Delete) and eventually I got better."

On September 11, 2001, four planes were sent out by terrorists to attack the United States. Two hit the Twin Towers in New York causing a panic all over the world. My aunt worked at the twin towers, and as she was heading there, the plane hit, and she along with everyone around her ran. Another plane hit the pentagon, and another known as Flight 93 was headed for San Francisco, but the passengers took over the plane and it crash landed in Pennsylvania. Nobody knew what was going on and people sat in a state of confusion, latched onto their TV screens, trying to find out what was going on. Nobody knew how many planes were hijacked or if their hometown would be the next target.

This is a photo of Kenneth Murray Jr. as he gets the Chargers their first win of the season by intercepting the ball inches above the end-zone.

I like this photo because of the intense energy and excitement it gives off. Murray is well centered while in a movement shot with a background blur. The photo has a lot of movement and color match.
