2) The similarity between ´Lamb to the slaughter´ and ´A Tiger in the Kitchen´ was that food was the main item that connected ad developed the story. 

The difference between ´Lamb to the slaughter´ and ´A Tiger in the Kitchen´ was
the way ´food´ was used to develop the story. In ´Lamb to the slaughter´, it was used as an evil item and an item used to murder while in ´A Tiger in the Kitchen´, it was very heartwarming as it was used as a connection between Tanglin Ah-ma and the author.

The difference I notice is that the food, used in these different contexts, all portray and depict a different meaning overall. For example, in "Lamb to the Slaughter", food is used as a weapon of murder, lust for blood, and overall a very morbid and wicked depiction of the subject of food. However, in "A Tiger in the Kitchen", food is used to portray the meaning of bonding, reunion, and overall the love we must all bring out to our parents and grandparents (i don't ;-;).

However in Tiger in the kitchen, food is symbolized as peace and sort of a welcoming gesture in a sense the food the Tanglin ahma makes is worshipped by the protagonist, especially the pineapple tarts which were clearly the fan-favorite, the pineapple tart ould have definitely not been able to murder someone due to its size and weight as compared to the piece of lamb
2. some similarities that can be pointed out in both stories are that food is the main subject in both stories and it is repetitive to direct the attention of the audience towards it so that they have a mutual understanding of what they should be looking for in the story which is clearly food hence what the story is based around and on. what could be differentiated is that one is used for a good cause and one isn't, ones for killing and the others for eating. Okay, maybe not the food was shown in the tiger In the kitchen to express the grandmother's love for the granddaughter as they would rarely communicate due to the lack of love for the grandmother's culture hence the only way the grandmother could converse to her grandaughter was food.
