         <description><![CDATA[<div>On the 24th of October, 1889, a man by the name of Sir Henry Parkes, delivered a speech called the "Tenterfield operation". The speech was presented at the Tenterfield School of Arts.<br>He had defended the 1866 settlement against pressure from the Public School League and embattled Catholic and Anglican people who didn't want to abide the rules until by the late 1870s administrative problems on the Council of Education, concern to spread limited resources more widely and the alliance with Robertson led him to move in a way most systematical politicians were coming to think fateful.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
