<title>Easter traditions in my country -BulgariaТhe legend tells us when Christ was crucified, came a hen and brought an egg under it. His blood flowed over the egg and colored him in red. Here comes the custom for the first egg to be colored red and the oldest woman in the family to take the first red egg and make a cross on the forehead of the children for health. Then the woman buries the egg in the land for fertility, or just keeps it. Some Christians see the egg of the incarnation of the cave, the tomb of Christ, which is removed and the color of the blood of Jesus, the blue color of purity, the violet of the cross, the green color of the disciples of Jesus and the yellow as the symbol of God In Bulgaria, the egg is a religious symbol, embedded in our way of life. The most traditional way of painting eggs in our lands is with wax. First paint the egg with a candle, then paint it. Where there is a trail of wax, the paint does not catch. The painted eggs are then wiped with a cotton cloth moistened with oil.</title>

<title>The Christmas Eve Piquette, of course, is lean like everything else on the table. In shape, the pie is round, symbolizing endlessness, and a coin is a symbol of prosperity. It is decorated with forms of dough depicting crosses, ripe classes, plow, plow, animals or fruit - symbols of well-being and fertility.Traditionally, the Christmas cake is broken by the oldest person in the house.Recipe for a Christmas Egg Cheese Recipe500 g flour + for kneading1/2 cube of fresh yeast250-300 ml of water2 teaspoons of salt1 teaspoon of sugar2 tablespoons of oil1 tablespoon of vinegar...Flush the flour three times in a deep dish, in the middle, make a well and pour the oil, salt, soda, vinegar and the rest of the water. Stir well and mix, adding more flour. The dough should be lightly sticky, mold it like a ball in the bowl, smear it with oil, and cover the bowl with a cloth. So leave it for about an hour in a warm room. In the middle we put wrapped well in foil money. We decorate with grain and other figurines and put the cake in a round baking dish that we have smeared and chased in advance. Bake in a preheated 180 ° oven, then turn it into a towel.</title>

<title>Banitsa [‘banitza] is a traditional Bulgarian pastry prepared for Christmas or New Year eve. People made “kasmets” (lucky charms) - usually small pieces of a dogwood branch with a bud - this symbolizes health and longevity, and put them onto the pastry. Other wishes include happiness, health, and success throughout the new year. PreparationMix the crumbled cheese, milk and eggs together. Cheese should be lumpy. Melt the butter in a cup. Butter the bottom of a round baking tray. Lay 5-6 sheets of filo dough, one after another (not together) and spread some butter in between. Spread some of the cheese mixture on top, Repeat until all mixture is used. Lay the last 3-4 sheets on the top with no butter in between. Spread the rest of the butter on top. Bake in the oven until golden (about 30 minutes on 180 degrees). Cut in portion sized squares. Ingredients1 pack of filo dough3 eggs1 lb Bulgarian cheese/feta cheese 3 tablespoons butter1 cup of milk or yoghurt.</title>

<title>In Bulgaria, Christmas is celebrated on December 25th. The Bulgarian Orthodox Church uses the Gregorian calendar. For many Bulgarians, the preparations for Christmas start 40 days ago on November 15th. The 20th is also the traditional &#39;new year&#39; in Bulgarian culture. It&#39;s traditional to eat a special ring shaped caked called &#39;kolaks&#39; on this day.Christmas Eve (called &#39;Badni Veche&#39;) is a very important day and the main Christmas meal is eaten in the evening of Christmas Eve. Of course, there is a beautifully decorated Christmas tree in every home. The meal should traditionally have an odd number of dishes in it (normally 7, 9 or 11) and an odd number of people sitting around the table. (Salt, pepper and sugar can count as separate dishes!)Straw is often put under the tablecloth and you might even bring a wooden plough into the house and put it behind the door! These are meant to help you have good crops during the next year.</title>
